As reported by
Canstar and
ESD News (second-hand reports, not the AER document), the flat-rate residential standing offer changed like this from last year:
| Region | Change |
|---|
| South-east Queensland | −7.2% |
| New South Wales | −3.4% to −5.0% |
| South Australia | +1.4% |
Both reports also have time-of-use offers down in all three regions, but that compares a new category with last year's flat rate.
Three things to compare on your bill:
- Usage rate (c/kWh): the biggest part of most bills.
- Daily supply charge (c/day): charged even when you use nothing.
- Off-peak or conditional discounts: compare rates before and after the discount, since pay-on-time or direct-debit conditions can change the real price.
The DMO is a ceiling on standing offers, not the cheapest plan. Compare plans for your postcode on Energy Made Easy, or put your bill into the electricity bill check.
