Privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026.
BillCrew ("we") runs this website. We collect as little as we can, and we aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- If you subscribe: your email address, the topics you pick, and your confirmation that you are 18 or older.
- If you create an account: your nickname, your password (stored only as a one-way scrambled hash, never as the password itself), your email address if you choose to give it, the time you signed up, and your confirmation that you are 18 or older. We do not verify email addresses and do not email account holders yet.
- If you post or reply in the forum: the board, title and text of your post or reply, and the time you posted it. These are shown publicly with your nickname, and search engines can find them. Please don't include personal details in posts. We also keep a record of moderation decisions about posts and replies (approved, hidden, restored, removed or referred to a person) and the reason.
- If you report a post or reply: which post or reply, the reason you chose and the time, linked to your account so each account can report an item only once. We never show who made a report.
- If you use the contact form: your message, the topic, and your name and email if you give them.
- When you view a page: the page address, the page that linked you here (the referrer), your browser's user-agent string, the time, and a random visitor ID stored in a cookie. We use this to count visits and to tell people apart from automated crawlers.
We do not store your IP address in our database. Our server uses it briefly, in memory, to limit abusive traffic.
Cookies and trackers
We set a first-party cookie, bc_vid, containing a random ID for our own visit counts. If you log in, we also set bc_session, which keeps you logged in for up to 30 days or until you log out; our database keeps only a scrambled copy of it. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party analytics or any other third-party trackers.
How we use it
- To email you about the launches and topics you asked for. We have not sent any emails yet.
- To show your posts and replies in the forum, and to review them under our terms.
- To read and reply to your messages, and to handle reports about content.
- To understand which pages are useful, using totals rather than individual profiles.
We do not sell or share your personal information. We will only disclose it if the law requires us to.
Where it is stored
Our website and database run on a cloud server located outside Australia (currently in South Korea). By using the site you understand your information is stored there.
How long we keep it
Subscriptions and accounts are kept until you ask us to remove them. Forum posts and replies stay on the site until you ask us to remove them, we remove them under our terms, or your account is deleted. Login sessions end after 30 days or when you log out. Messages are kept as long as we need them to deal with your request or report. Visit records are kept for site statistics.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete your information, to delete your account or a post, or to unsubscribe, use the contact form and choose "Privacy request". If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Age
This site is for people aged 18 and over. Please do not subscribe, create an account or send us information if you are under 18.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
